Karen recently met with Claire, the Education Manager in the North West for the Young Gamers and Gamblers Education Trust (YGAM). YGAM is a national charity with a social purpose to enable those who work with children and young people to inform, educate, safeguard and build digital resilience in young people, helping them to make informed decisions and understand the consequences around gambling and gaming.
They offer training workshops to support youth workers to address this increasing issue with young people and to give them, as staff/volunteers, the tools to safeguard all young people and signpost anyone who may need it to the correct support.
Would your club be interested in a free of charge training session, delivered virtually for your club leaders and volunteers, sometime in May or June? The training and resources are City and Guilds assured and all attendees receive a digital certificate to evidence their CPD.
It is a great opportunity to work with YGAM, for personal development and to support your young members.
Let us have your thoughts.
